This member of the Burseraceae family was described by Townshend Stith Brandegee in 1908. It is found in Baja California, Mexico, growing in well-drained soil with some water and some sun.
The stem can grow to eight centimetres or more in diameter, and will reach up to one meter.
The flowers are white and the plant can be reproduced both by the small red seeds and by cuttings.
