Pachypodium rosulatum subs. makayense (firstly described as Pachypodium makayense by Lavranos 2004) is a local or morphological form of the widespread and variable Pachypodium rosulatum.
It has a large shining yellow flower with a white ring around the tube. However the distinguishing characteristics of P. makayense, appear to fall within the natural variation of P. rosulatum and it should be synonymized with the latter.
